Privacy Policy

Peeked is a story-based detective game built around a simulated phone. The messages, photos, notes and accounts inside each case are fictional story content, not information taken from your device. This policy explains what data the app processes and why.

The short version. Peeked does not require an account and does not ask for your real name, email address or phone number. Your profile and case progress stay on your device. We use anonymous identifiers for purchases, hints, analytics and optional notifications. We do not sell personal data, show third-party ads or access the real contents of your phone.

1. Who we are

This app ("Peeked", "we", "us") is operated by the Peeked team. For any privacy question, contact us at savasaeee@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

Peeked works without a registered account. We do not ask for your email address, phone number, contacts or precise (GPS) location. We process the following limited information:

Data	Why
Local profile and game data	The nickname and interests you choose during onboarding, case progress, answers, downloaded cases, badges and settings are stored locally on your device. They are not sent to our backend. Case status may also be shown in the Peeked home-screen widget, which remains on your device.
Anonymous identifiers and account state	A device- or installation-based identifier, platform, anonymous user ID, premium status and hint balance let the app work without a login and keep purchases and hints in sync.
Purchase & subscription data	Product, transaction and entitlement information is used to unlock paid content and restore purchases. Payment is handled by the app store; Peeked does not receive your card number or billing address.
Usage analytics	An anonymous analytics identifier and limited events, such as opening the home screen or interacting with a Peeked social link, help us understand and improve the app.
Optional notification data	If notifications are enabled, we process an Expo push token, installation ID, language, platform, OS version, device model and app version so we can deliver and troubleshoot notifications.
Ask a friend (optional)	If you ask a friend for help on a question, we store a help request linked to your anonymous user ID (the case, the question number and your app language) and create a private link for it; your nickname is not included. Answers that people type on that page, and a name they may choose to add, are stored and shown only to you, and are sent to you as a notification if notifications are on. To prevent abuse we keep only a one-way hash of the replier’s IP address, never the address itself.
Network and technical data	Our service providers automatically process technical request data such as IP address, timestamps and device or app information to deliver content, maintain security and provide analytics.

About the "phone" in the game. Peeked does not read or upload your real messages, contacts, call logs, microphone recordings or photo library. If you choose to share an achievement card, the app may ask for photo-library or sharing access solely to complete that action. Share cards and share links do not include your nickname. The social or messaging service you select then receives the card under its own privacy terms. Links to third-party social services open only when you choose them.

3. Why we process data

We process this limited data to provide the app and its requested features, manage anonymous access, hints and purchases, deliver story content, remember local settings, send notifications you enable, protect the service, diagnose problems and understand basic usage. Where applicable, our legal bases include performing our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in operating and improving Peeked, your consent for optional permissions and notifications, and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Payments & subscriptions

Purchases (one-time or subscription) are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store and managed for us by RevenueCat. We receive a confirmation that a purchase happened and its status — not your payment card or billing address. To manage or cancel a subscription, use your Google Play or Apple account settings.

5. Service providers and sharing

We share the limited data above with a small set of processors, only to run the app:

Cloudflare — hosting, storage and content delivery for our backend (privacy policy).
RevenueCat — purchase and subscription management (privacy policy).
Amplitude — product analytics (privacy policy).
Expo — optional push-notification delivery (privacy policy).
Google Play / Apple — app distribution and payments (Google · Apple).

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business reorganization subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal data, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or use third-party advertising SDKs.

6. Notifications and permissions

With your permission, the app may send notifications (for example, a reminder about a new case). You can turn these off at any time in your device settings.

7. Storage and international transfers

Your nickname, interests, settings and case progress stay in local app storage. Anonymous account, hint, purchase and optional notification records are stored using Cloudflare infrastructure. Analytics and purchase data is processed by the providers listed above. Processing may occur outside your country; where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers.

8. Retention and deletion

Local app data remains until you reset progress in Peeked or remove the app, subject to your platform's backup behavior. Server-side anonymous account, purchase, hint, notification and Ask a friend (help request and reply) records are kept only as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and prevent abuse. Analytics retention is governed by our provider settings. You can disable notifications in the app or device settings. To request deletion of server-side data associated with your anonymous identifier, email savasaeee@gmail.com.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the EU GDPR and Türkiye's KVKK), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your data, and to withdraw consent. Because we don't collect identifying information, we may ask for your anonymous device ID to locate the relevant records. To exercise any right, contact savasaeee@gmail.com.

10. Children

Peeked is not directed to children under 13, and its mystery stories are intended for a teen and adult audience. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will remove the associated data.

11. Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and secure on-device storage for sensitive values. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, provide a notice in the app or on this site.
